Maryland: First State to Bar Employers From Demanding Social Media InfoOn Wednesday, May 2, Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley signed S.B. 433, the nation’s first law barring employers from demanding employees or job applicants to disclose their user name or password for accessing social media accounts. The law is effective October 1, 2012.
